Blue from here to forever...
15 February 2012Been a little lax on the blogging front, as time spent in Sydney for me seems always to be full - I lived there "growing up" (at least on my departure from Central Otago), and the friends I have there, are with me always. This means lots of catching up, and a little bit of nostalgia here and there - one of those thoughts I hold dear, is that the sky can never be as blue anywhere, as I remember it in Sydney - those perfect days when it's shades of blue all, from one side of the world to the other!
I thought it wasn't going to happen this time, but she always comes thru for me somehow - when leaving NZ I'd checked the forecasts (rain, rain, more rain, and ... rain) - it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected, and then there was saturday morning to the rescue. My host, and great friend Nikki got me up with the sparrows (or should I say Cockatoos...), and with wonderdog Lola, we were off on the now famous Bondi to Bronte trek - at least you'd think so by the number of punter's finally getting some sun "in". Finished it off with a swim @ Bronte, dodging nippers by the hundred, but with the feel of summer in the sun on my skin - love that place;-)
It's amazing how a memory can hold, and the joys it brings back to you - I always have the land of the long white cloud as home, but the land of forever blue has it's place in my heart too!
