THELENNONPROJECT
21 December 2011The day I opened my store- I was running with a very minimal approach, which suited my aesthetic but was probably more due to the fact that I had very little.. About ten tee shirts, a few shirts, some boxer shorts and ONE beautiful simple piece of furniture... It was the first award winning piece from my mate Sam Lennon. The 'inverted cube'. Since then 'THELENNONPROJECT' has continued to expand, and has been by far the most successful of the designers I do by best to represent.
Sam is a busy man. He's now based in Hong Kong, yet manages to design there and maintain relationships here- allowing for local production of his brilliant designs. This week I delivered his latest work to the DesignFolio headquarters to be judged in the 'incubator' competition. He's up against the brightest design innovators , the winner flying with the wonderful Claire Sullivan, courtesy of Peroni to Milan. It's an amazing opportunity for any designer. Sam hasn't even seen these pieces yet, they are brand new- I'm sitting surrounded by the new collection and I do believe he's got it all figured out. Let's hope the judges think so too. He deserves it.
Check it out. He's the man.
