What is culture?
In tripping out on Brazil I think I have got the definition we all have been looking for, culture is the binder, it's the tangible THING that makes a community differ from others, and these difference's are something that the community or country or town or city, loves about itself. Something that the people engage with. A great culture is one that is loved completely by its community, and Brazil it seems is a people that is in love with itself and its culture. In a good way. In a great way. In a way that the Brazilian people should be and are proud of. In thinking about these buddies, and the samba, and the surf, and the beach lifestyle, the passion, the aggression, the fighting, the late nights, the cheating, the pretty girls, the muscular boys and the acceptance that all seems to be a part of Brazilian culture. I get excited about how New Zealand culture will develop given time. New Zealand is heading towards becoming a hugely diverse mixture of culture and ethnicity, and if we are to follow in any way the cultural growth curve that Brazil has taken, then I think we will be a lucky country.
Tudo bem! (all is good)
